RESIDENTS
Meet our furry children – The Residents of Many Paws. They are our babies, our life blood, the reason why we do what we do, and why we operate with so much passion.
Mikah
DOB: 1/21/2010
Mikah has been running this household longer than any of the other dogs — and she knows it. Adopted at 1.5 years old after being dropped off at a rescue with a Pitbull sidekick, she arrived with main character energy and has never once let it fade.
She relocated from Savannah, GA in 2011, bringing her Southern charm, her miniature pinscher sass, and her firm belief that every room is her room.
Today, at 15 years old, Mikah is thriving as a tiny, happy, eyeball-less legend. Reoccurring infections may have taken her eyes, but they did not take her attitude. She navigates life using pure confidence, sonar, and the occasional “oops, that wasn’t a dog, that was a wall.”
Despite her heart murmur and back arthritis, she still insists on playing “fakeout” with the younger dogs — a game in which she tries to entice them; they respond, and she proudly continues the game long after they’ve left the zip code. She has no idea they’re gone, but she is having the time of her life.
Mikah is loving, active, and absolutely convinced she is the fastest creature in the house. And honestly, who’s going to tell her otherwise.
Long live the tiny queen.

Albus
DOB: 7/26/2023
Albus arrived in 2023 alongside his sister Arianna, stepping into the household like two first years arriving at Hogwarts. Albus wasted no time establishing himself as the star pupil of the Many Paws Annex of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Sniffery.
His specialty? Attention Magic. The moment he sees you, he launches into an elaborate spell known as Beggius Maximus, a dramatic display of paws, wiggles, and soulful eyes designed to summon immediate affection. It is 100% effective and cannot be blocked, even by the strongest Occlumency.
Albus is also a proud member of House Possessivepuff. If he finds a cozy spot on the sofa or bed, that location becomes a protected magical territory. Attempting to move him will result in a very clear message: “This is my spot. I claimed it. I licked it. I live here now.”
He is, without question, an attention hog, a sofa tyrant, and a tiny wizard of chaos — but he’s also endlessly charming, wildly lovable, and fully committed to his role as the dramatic lead of the Many Paws Hogwarts Annex.
Ten points to Albus for sheer audacity.

Freya
DOB: 8/22/2016
Freya’s origin story is the stuff of legend — or at least the stuff of exhausted PetSmart shoppers. In 2016, on a completely ordinary, non-adoption day, someone walked up to us with the desperation of a parent at the end of summer break and said, “Please just take them. They’re the last two puppies out of a litter of 11 and I’m tired.” And just like that, Freya and her sister Luna (crossed the rainbow bridge in 2023) joined the family.
From day one, Freya has been the embodiment of gentle sweetness. She’s a soft soul in a 20 lb body, happiest when she is physically touching either of her house moms. Fireworks? Thunderstorms? A leaf blowing suspiciously across the yard? Freya will be glued to you like a living, trembling weighted blanket.
But don’t let her delicate demeanor fool you — Freya has opinions, especially about bedtime real estate. If she wants a specific spot next to one of you, she will wake you from the deepest, most peaceful sleep with the confidence of someone who knows she will get what she wants. Whoever is currently in that spot? They’re getting relocated. Freya has spoken.
She’s tender, loyal, dramatic in the most endearing way, and fully committed to maintaining optimal snuggle placement at all times. A true goddess among dogs, ruling the household with a soft paw and an iron will.
Long live FreyFrey, the Snuggle Sovereign.

Bentley
DOB: 12/5/2013
Bentley joined the family in 2015 courtesy of DFW Rescue Me in Dallas, TX. He has been enthusiastically licking his way through life ever since. Hands, arms, pillows, rugs, blankets — if it exists, Bentley believes it deserves a good bathing. He is essentially a Roomba with a tongue.
Blankets are his natural habitat. If there is a blanket within a five mile radius, Bentley will burrow into it like a determined woodland creature who pays no rent.
When he first arrived, Bentley didn’t exactly know how to “dog.” His previous owners kept him crated most of the day, so his résumé was missing some key skills like “walks,” “friends,” and “understanding the concept of fun.”.
Thankfully, his amazing foster mom got him started on the path to dog-hood — walks, socializing, and the radical idea that life can be more than four crate walls and a dream. Now he’s a fullfledged character with a personality big enough to justify two nicknames:
Piglet (for the markings on his nose) and
Car Alarm (for the incessant barking when someone comes to the door or something is out of the ordinary).
Bentley is quirky, sweet, blanket obsessed, and proudly living his best late bloomer dog life — one lick at a time.

Arianna
DOB: 7/26/2023
Arianna arrived in 2023 alongside her brother Albus, joining the Many Paws Hogwarts Annex. From the moment she stepped through the metaphorical castle doors, it was clear she was destined for greatness — or at least for chaos, fetch, and excessive enthusiasm.
Ari is the spicy Gryffindor of the group, fueled entirely by determination, zoomies, and the belief that every toy is a Golden Snitch waiting to be caught. When she returns from a fetch mission, her whole body wiggles so hard it looks like she’s trying to cast Wigglus Totalus on herself.
Meeting new people is where her unique magical abilities shine. Instead of a polite sniff or a gentle greeting, Ari deploys her signature spell: Lingua Cerebrum, also known as the Brain Probe. First timers are always warned. Few are prepared. None forget.
Despite her questionable methods of gathering intel, Arianna is pure joy wrapped in a wiggly, mischievous package. She’s brave, bold, and just unhinged enough to keep the Many Paws Annex lively — a true seeker of fun, affection, and any opportunity to lick someone directly into another dimension.
Ten points to Wiggle Butt for enthusiasm alone.

Sasha
DOB: 8/29/2014
Sasha holds a special place in the Many Paws legacy — the very first dog adopted under Many Paws, and she arrived just one day before her scheduled euthanasia. Talk about perfect timing and a destiny rewritten.
Right after the rescue earned its 501(c)(3) status, a trip to Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Control was made to introduce the Many Paws Sanctuary. The rescue coordinator said, “I’ve got a dog who fits your mission.” And that dog was Sasha — quiet, fragile, and carrying more medical baggage than any little body should.
She went straight into dental surgery to deal with several severely infected teeth, plus the removal of four mammary tumors. In true Sasha fashion, she beat the odds: three tumors benign, and clean margins on the malignant one. A tiny fighter wrapped in soft fur.
When she first came to the sanctuary, Sasha was shut down — the kind of stillness that comes from surviving more than thriving. But slowly, steadily, she began to unfurl. Now she knows exactly what she wants, and she’s not shy about asking for it. Senior dog confidence is a beautiful thing.
Her vision is limited - a full cataract in one eye, a detached retina in the other — and her hearing isn’t much better. But none of that stops her. Sasha navigates the world with determination, intuition, and the unshakeable belief that she deserves comfort, safety, and love.
She is the quiet matriarch, the soft spoken survivor, the dog who arrived on the brink and decided she wasn’t done yet. Sasha didn’t just join Many Paws — she helped define it. A true founding queen.

Holly
DOB: 12/10/2010
Holly joined the family in 2024 under bittersweet circumstances. After her mom passed away, mutual friends stepped in to care for her — honoring a promise made with love. They tried their best, but their big, enthusiastic dog accidentally broke Holly’s leg during playtime. Realizing she’d be safer in a home of small dogs and soft landings, they made the tough, selfless decision to find her a new place to thrive.
Originally named Molly, but the household already had one Molly on the roster, so she received the festive little rebrand: Holly. Thus, Holly Jolly was born — a name that sounds like she should come with her own holiday soundtrack.
Despite everything she’s been through, Holly radiates the attitude of “I’ve seen some things.” She fits right into the small dog squad, soaking up safety, comfort, and love.
She’s just quirky enough to live up to her holiday themed name — a tiny reminder that even in hard moments, joy finds its way home.

George
DOB: 8/10/2011
George—formerly known as Isaiah in a past life he has politely chosen not to discuss—arrived at Many Paws at the distinguished age of 14. His previous family surrendered him when it seemed like his spark was fading, but George had other plans.
Upon arrival, he sampled a few new names like a dog trying out beds at a luxury boutique. None felt quite right until “George” came along, and he lit up like someone had just offered him a warm blanket fresh from the dryer.
Now, George is living his best golden‑years renaissance. He’s a happy, gentle soul who has rediscovered the joy of soft naps, good snacks, and the kind of love that wraps around him like sunshine. His tail wags with quiet confidence, as if to say, “See? I just needed the right place and the right people.”
At Many Paws, George isn’t declining—he’s thriving. He’s found his family, his comfort, and his forever name. And every day, he reminds everyone that sometimes the sweetest chapters begin when you think the story is winding down.

Bella
DOB: 1/30/2016
Bella-Trix arrived in our world on 1/30/2026, rescued from Charlotte Animal Control like a misunderstood creature straight out of the Forbidden Forest. Once listed for euthanasia due to a heart murmur and three mischievous lipomas, she was clearly in need of a proper Hogwarts-level intervention. After her jailbreak, she was whisked away for a spa day worthy of Madam Pomfrey herself—complete with a bath, a mani/pedi, and a full wellness exam.
Now settling into the pak life, Bella-Trix has discovered the joys of enchanted meals (also known as good food) and the ancient magic of sleeping in a warm bed. She curled up so snugly, she could’ve passed for a napping Niffler.
Today, she’s officially a member of the legendary puppy pile known as Many Paws—a name that would make even Professor McGonagall proud. Her story may have started in a dark place, but like any great witch, she’s rewriting her destiny one cozy nap at a time.

Draco
DOB: 12/10/2010
Draco arrived in 2015 from DFW Rescue Me in Dallas, TX, and immediately established himself as the first official wizard-in-training of the Many Paws Hogwarts Annex. His magical lineage? Complicated. Mysterious. Absolutely adorable.
A DNA test revealed what everyone already suspected: Draco is a multihouse hybrid — part Chihuahua (House Sass), part Italian Greyhound (House Elegance), part Wirehair Terrier (House Chaos), and a sprinkle of “miscellaneous enchantments” thrown in for good measure. Truly a magical creature of rare and wondrous origin.
His physical form is equally spellbinding. Draco sports minimal hair on his belly, knees, and elbows - a look that screams “I am comfortable in my magical skin.” But the pièce de résistance is the delicate strip of baby fine hair atop his head, which can be styled into a mohawk worthy of a rebellious young wizard who refuses to follow the dress code.
Draco is also a proud member of House Possessivepuff. If he has claimed a spot beside his moms, that spot becomes a magically protected territory. Attempting to sit between them triggers his signature defensive spell: “Nopeius Interruptus.” It is highly effective and delivered with the confidence of a dog who knows he is loved beyond measure.
He is sweet, quirky, loyal, and just dramatic enough to be the perfect founding student of the Many Paws Hogwarts Annex — a true magical mutt with a heart as big as his Buddha Belly. Ten points to Draco for being an absolute treasure.

Dobby
DOB: 1/10/2015
Dobby didn’t arrive so much as he materialized, exactly the way a house elf should — right inside our fenced backyard while we were off at the Farmers’ Market. No warning. No explanation. Just pure chaotic magic.
When we got home, he greeted you with the traditional house elf welcome ceremony: barking and demanding an immediate audience with the resident pack. He refused to be ignored until the other dogs were released to meet him, at which point he declared, “Yes. This is my family now.”
He was in rough shape - covered in fleas, nails curled into his paw pads like tiny torture devices — but after a bath and a nail trim, he transformed faster than a student who accidentally drank Polyjuice Potion. Within 24 hours, he had fully integrated into the Zak Pak routine like he’d been rehearsing for this role his whole life.
His best friend is Ace, with whom he shares a deep and mysterious bond, possibly forged in the Forbidden Forest or possibly just in the backyard. Hard to say.
As always, we notified Animal Control and posted on every lost and found site in the kingdom, but no one came forward. Which makes perfect sense, because house elves don’t get “lost.” They simply choose where they belong.
And Dobby chose us.
Ten points to The Dobster for dramatic entrance, instant assimilation, and pure elf energy devotion.

Ace
DOB: 6/1/2016
Ace’s story began with a Facebook plea that could stop any dog lover mid-scroll: “Please, someone take him and get his broken leg fixed.” It was the second time the larger dogs in his previous home had accidentally broken his leg during play, and his family did the bravest, kindest thing they could — they asked for help. And we answered.
What followed was nothing short of a medical miracle. Dr. Moore at Wilkinson Animal Hospital spent hours performing delicate orthopedic wizardry, carefully inserting a rod into Ace’s atrophied bone. When he came home, he wasn’t just Ace — he was Bionic Ace, rebuilt, reinforced, and ready for a new life.
And oh, did he take advantage of that new life.
Today, Ace is the fastest dog in the entire pack. A blur of fur and joy, he tears around the backyard like he’s training for the Senior Dog Olympics. His leg still aches when the weather turns cold or rainy, but most days he’s too busy unleashing his signature zoomies to care.
He’s loving, grateful, goofy, resilient, and powered by equal parts titanium and pure enthusiasm. Ace didn’t just get a second chance — he ran with it. Literally.
Long live Aceman, the bionic dog.

JoJo
DOB: 11/12/2011
Jojo became part of the family in 2025, right as Many Paws was finding its footing. She was technically adopted under our individual names, but she fit the Many Paws mission so perfectly that it felt like she was destined to be the sanctuary’s very first “unofficial official” resident.
From day one, Jojo has radiated pure sweetness. She has been in and out of the local shelter, was hit by a car and sustained injuries that make stairs and cold weather tough. She’s the kind of dog who makes you soften your voice without even realizing it — a gentle soul wrapped in a tiny, furry package. But don’t let her serene energy fool you. At 14 years old, Jojo has the surprising athleticism of someone who refuses to act her age. Her favorite pastime? Running around the yard with the younger crew, especially her partner-in-play, Dolly. Jojo doesn’t just keep up — she thrives in the chaos, trotting along with the confidence of a senior who knows she’s still got it.
She’s tender, joyful, and quietly hilarious in the way only older dogs can be — the kind who will nap like a Victorian grandmother one minute and then break into a spontaneous sprint the next.
Jojo Bean is living proof that age is just a number and joy is a lifestyle.

Molly
DOB: 8/9/2018
Molly’s entrance into the Many Paws Hogwarts Annex was nothing short of dramatic — the kind of scene that would have made Filch drop his mop. One moment she was sprinting back and forth across a busy street, and the next, every magical alarm in the house went off. (And by “magical alarms,” we of course mean the resident dogs, who alerted the entire neighborhood that ‘Something Was Happening’.)
The house moms immediately launched into a full-scale rescue mission, chasing Molly long enough to exhaust her, ourselves, and possibly a few innocent bystanders. Eventually, we managed to slip a leash on her - a feat worthy of at least twenty points to Hufflepuff.
At first, Molly viewed humans with the same suspicion a first year might reserve for Snape. It took two full days of quietly sitting in the sunroom before she decided these strange people might not be Death Eaters after all. Once she made up her mind, though, she committed fully — classic Hufflepuff loyalty.
Despite having a collar and being in great shape, no one ever came forward to claim her. After notifying animal control and posting on every lost and found site in the kingdom, she officially became part of the Many Paws pack.
And then her true magic revealed itself: Molly the Mama. She decided that Ari was her baby — no questions asked, no paperwork required. She is now the self-appointed Ear Cleaning Prefect, constantly tending to Ari with the dedication of a house elf who takes her job very seriously.
Molly is sweet, cautious, maternal, and just dramatic enough to fit perfectly into the Hogwarts Annex — a runaway turned resident who found her home, her people, and her “baby,” all thanks to a little patience and a lot of magic.
Ten points to Mama for exceptional maternal instincts.

Dolly
DOB: 6/25/2023
Dolly joined the family after her previous home realized that puppy energy plus incoming grandkids might be a recipe for chaos. And honestly… they weren’t wrong. Dolly arrived with the confidence of one who had been raised exclusively by cats — because she was. She spent her formative months believing she was feline, and she has never once questioned that identity.
This explains her signature talent: climbing onto absolutely anything. Counters, tables, furniture, shelves — if gravity applies, Dolly considers it a suggestion. This talent has led to some unforgettable life lessons, such as:
Never leave huckleberry flavored saltwater taffy on the dining room table.
Apparently, Dolly’s digestive system can turn that into a full house sensory experience. Who knew vomit and poop could smell like artisanal fruit candy.
Dolly quickly bonded with Albus and Ari, forming the unstoppable trio known as The Littles — a whirlwind of zoomies, mischief, and questionable decision making. Together, they operate like a tiny, chaotic task force whose mission is unclear but definitely involves tumbling, licking, and sprinting.
She’s quirky, clever, catlike, and spiritually enlightened enough to earn the nickname Dolly Lama. A small dog with big personality and even bigger vertical leap.
Long live the Littlest Acrobat
